Homestead Estate Aged Care

Client:
TLC Aged Care
Location:
Geelong | Victoria Australia
Delivered:
2018

Located in Wallington on the Bellarine Peninsula near Geelong, the existing 75-bed Homestead Lakes and 60-bed The Homestead facilities were the first aged care homes developed by TLC Healthcare in the early 1990s. Set within expansive rural surrounds, the homes established a country homestead character that has long appealed to a predominantly regional resident demographic.

The redevelopment reimagines the site as a contemporary integrated care precinct while retaining its connection to the landscape. At full build-out, the facility will provide 280 residential aged care beds supporting ageing in place, including four dedicated respite beds. A comprehensive suite of health and wellbeing services will sit alongside residential accommodation, broadening the role of the campus beyond traditional aged care.

The expanded offering includes a medical centre with general practice, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and allied health services, complemented by a retail pharmacy and café. Radiology, pathology and telehealth capabilities further strengthen clinical provision, enabling care for both residents and the wider local community. Through this evolution, the project balances the familiarity of its rural origins with a forward-looking model of integrated healthcare delivery.
