St John the Apostle Primary School is a new Prep to Year 6 school located in Melbourne’s western growth corridor. The masterplan was developed through extensive consultation with a Project Steering Committee, including representatives from the parish, community and Catholic Education Melbourne.

The school has been designed for 21st-century learning, placing students at the centre of every decision. The campus encourages engagement from the wider community, giving families the opportunity to be part of daily school life. Classrooms and outdoor areas are integrated within the landscape, allowing children to learn both inside and outside while connecting with the natural environment.

Sustainability is a key focus of the design. Features include a thermally efficient building fabric, ample natural light and ventilation, hydronic heating, a night purge system for summer cooling, solar panels, LED lighting, and rainwater collection for toilet flushing and irrigation. The landscape also incorporates swales and provision for future vegetable gardens, supporting hands-on learning and environmental awareness.
