The Music Centre at St Kevin’s College responds to its residential setting while creating a strong public presence for the campus. A central gallery promenade connects the building’s large recital and rehearsal spaces with smaller practice rooms, supporting both individual and group music activities and informal performances.

The palette draws from the college’s zinc-clad sports hall and references the historic St Kevin’s Monastery in Ireland, with stone construction and slit windows forming a considered and distinctive public face. The design balances visual interest, scale and bulk within its neighbourhood while giving the building a clear identity.

Inside, Victorian Ash finishes provide warmth and texture, with carefully sculpted spaces that enhance both acoustics and comfort. Integrated graphics deliver educational content and a sense of belonging, reinforcing the college’s vision for the Music Centre as a learning-focused, welcoming environment for students.
